XRP (XRP) traded near $1.40 as whale accumulation rebounded, daily ledger transactions stayed above 2M and futures open interest reached $3.13B, while analyst Ali Martinez watched for a breakout toward $1.46.

Key Points:

  • XRP whale accumulation recovered in September after turning mostly negative in late August.
  • Daily XRP Ledger transactions remained above 2M, while futures open interest reached $3.13B.
  • Martinez said an hourly close above $1.40 could support a move toward $1.46.

XRP Whale Flows

XRP whale accumulation has strengthened again in September after fading in late August, according to CryptoQuant’s Whale Flow 30DMA data. The shift suggests selling pressure from large holders is easing. Positive whale flows had dominated earlier in August as XRP moved above $1.20 and later $1.40, before the metric turned mostly negative around Aug. 26.

The late-August reversal produced an average daily outflow of about 3M XRP, while exchange inflows also accelerated.

More recent readings show accumulation recovering, alongside network activity that has remained elevated. Daily XRP Ledger transactions stayed above 2M through early September, with active accounts and payments also holding at higher levels.

Institutional flows added another support signal, with SoSoValue data showing cumulative spot XRP ETF inflows at $1.68B. Assets under management exceeded $1.48B as whale accumulation recovered, while derivatives activity also strengthened. Total XRP futures open interest rose 0.81% over four hours to $3.13B.

Ali Martinez Outlook

Crypto analyst Ali Martinez identified a descending triangle on XRP’s hourly chart and said a confirmed move above $1.40 could open a path toward $1.46. He advised traders to wait for an hourly close above $1.40 before entering. The level remains the immediate technical trigger.

For a longer-term setup, Martinez identified $3.66 as the key resistance level and said a monthly close above it could activate a technical target near $60.

That projection is far beyond the current price and depends on a major breakout. Futures positioning nevertheless showed modest buying interest, with four-hour open interest rising almost 1% on CME, 0.80% on Binance and 1.15% on Hyperliquid.

XRP was trading around $1.40 after falling from roughly $1.60 and settling into a $1.35-$1.45 range. The recent rebound follows the late-August period when whale flows turned negative, exchange inflows increased and price momentum weakened before September accumulation began to recover.
