Solana (SOL) ETF demand surged on Aug. 27, but the two larger inflow days on record were followed by declines above 20%.

Key Points:

  • Solana spot ETFs drew $60.91 million on Aug. 27, the third-largest daily inflow since launch.
  • The two larger inflow days in 2025 preceded declines of at least 20% within two weeks.
  • Network fees, DeFi deposits and tokenized asset growth offer stronger support than during those earlier peaks.

Solana ETF Inflows

U.S. spot Solana ETFs recorded $60.91 million in net inflows on Aug. 27, nearly seven times the previous session and the strongest result since Nov. 3, 2025, BeInCrypto reported, citing SoSoValue. Trading value more than doubled to $196.82 million as cumulative inflows rose 4.83% to $1.322 billion.

Bitwise's BSOL supplied about 66% of inflows, though five of nine funds attracted capital.

The record carries a warning. Solana ETFs drew $69.45 million on Oct. 28, 2025, before SOL fell 20.1% within seven days and 27.5% within a month, while $70.05 million on Nov. 3 preceded a 21.1% decline over two weeks. Two cases are not a strong statistical sample, and the broader market also weakened in late 2025.

Banerjee Network View

Ananda Banerjee argued that the current rally has more network support than those earlier episodes, with tokenized real-world assets reaching a record $4.167 billion on Aug. 25 and holders increasing 12.12% over 30 days. Monthly fees rose 37.29%, DeFi deposits climbed 24.36% to $5.96 billion and Solana's decentralized exchange volume share reached 31.16%.

Capacity has also expanded. The maximum block size rose 66% in Jul., while MoneyGram cash rails now reach more than 170 countries.

Other signals remain weaker. Stablecoin supply increased only 0.59% in 30 days as SOL gained 46.3%. Weekly active addresses fell 7.23%, while Binance's taker buy-sell ratio stood at 0.907, indicating more aggressive selling than buying.

Open interest rose 62.19% in dollar terms but only 10.34% when measured in SOL, suggesting much of the increase came from price appreciation rather than a similar expansion in positions.

That limits how much conviction can be inferred from derivatives activity.

SOL traded near $107 after gaining 49.35% since Aug. 16, with resistance at $109.39 and support at $105.98 and $101.77. A drop below $94.95 would weaken the bullish setup. The move follows a roughly 46% monthly gain, leaving Solana near the elevated price zone that accompanied the larger ETF inflow days in 2025.
