XRP (XRP) traders are betting on a rebound near $1 as futures open interest reaches $2.78 billion, while social sentiment hits a three-month low.
Key Points:
- XRP futures open interest rose to $2.78 billion as 24-hour derivatives volume jumped 55% to roughly $1.17 billion.
- Binance and OKX traders leaned heavily long, while positioning across all tracked venues remained close to balanced.
- Santiment said XRP social sentiment fell to a three-month low as the token continued trading around $1.
XRP Futures
XRP futures open interest rose 2% in 24 hours to about $2.78 billion, while derivatives trading volume jumped 55% to roughly $1.17 billion. Data from CoinGlass showed traders on Binance and OKX were taking a much more bullish position than the broader market.
More than three Binance accounts held long XRP positions for every account holding a short, while the exchange’s largest traders showed a roughly 3.6-to-1 long-to-short split. OKX recorded the same 3.6-to-1 ratio. A long position profits when price rises, while leverage lets traders control larger positions with less capital and increases liquidation risk.
Across all tracked venues, however, the 24-hour long-to-short ratio stood near 0.93, indicating that overall positioning remained close to balanced. XRP traded around $1 during Asian morning hours Monday, while Bitcoin (BTC) moved above $64,000.

Liquidation Risk
Social sentiment moved in the opposite direction, as Santiment said commentary about XRP across X, Reddit, Telegram and other channels became its most negative in three months after the token failed to produce a sustained rally.
The divergence matters because leveraged long positions can amplify losses when price moves against traders. If XRP falls decisively below $1, exchanges could automatically close undercollateralized long positions, adding forced selling to an already weak market.
Network activity is also rising, although it does not show whether users are buying or selling.
Nearly 50,000 addresses were active during one 24-hour period, the highest level in more than two months, after activity approached 2026 lows in July. An active address is simply a wallet that sent or received funds during the measured period.
XRP traded above $3 at last year’s highs but now sits near $1. Futures exposure has climbed from roughly 2 billion tokens earlier this summer to about 2.77 billion, bringing positioning toward levels seen when XRP traded several times higher.
