Ethereum (ETH) traded near $2,470 while VanEck’s long-term base case put the asset at $11,800 by 2030, with near-term traders watching a $2,540 breakout.
Key Points:
- ETH remains between $2,380 support and $2,600 resistance.
- VanEck’s long-term case values ETH at $11,800 by 2030, while another model cited in the report reaches $14,135 by 2031.
- More than 116,000 ETH, worth about $300 million, reportedly left exchanges over 48 hours, potentially reducing immediate sell-side supply.
Ethereum Price Setup
ETH had pulled back from a recent high near $2,550 and was consolidating around $2,470. A weekly close above $2,540 could strengthen the case for a move toward $2,700 and later $3,000, according to the analysis.
The downside level is clear. A break below $2,380 could send ETH back toward the low-$2,300 range, while continued trading between support and resistance would leave the market without a confirmed direction. ETH remains range-bound until either level gives way.
More than 116,000 ETH, valued at roughly $300 million, moved off exchanges during the previous 48 hours, a development traders often interpret as lower near-term selling pressure.

Matthew Sigel Forecast
VanEck’s Matthew Sigel has framed Ethereum’s longer-term value around fee revenue, staking yields, Layer-2 scaling and greater institutional use of smart contracts. Under the firm’s base case, those drivers could support an ETH price of $11,800 by 2030.
Jacob Crypto Bury offered a more restrained view. “I think $11,800 is slightly high still for Ethereum,” he wrote, adding that $7,000 to $8,000 looked more realistic and would depend on statistical factors.
The report also cited a separate model projecting $14,135 by 2031, while Tom Lee has called for prices above $10,000 in 2027 or 2028. These forecasts differ in timing and assumptions, but each depends on Ethereum expanding its economic role rather than price momentum alone. None is guaranteed.
Ethereum’s immediate chart remains far less dramatic than those long-range targets. ETH recently reached about $2,550 before slipping toward $2,470, leaving the market between a $2,380 support floor and the $2,535 to $2,600 resistance zone.
