Cumulative net inflows into U.S. spot XRP (XRP) exchange-traded funds reached $1.67 billion by Aug. 31, even as the token slipped back toward $1.38.

Key Points:

  • Weekly net inflows into spot XRP ETFs hit $110.49 million in the week ending Aug. 28, the strongest weekly total of 2026.
  • Goldman Sachs disclosed about $87.4 million in XRP ETF exposure, the largest reported institutional position.
  • The funds hold more than 1% of total XRP supply, but monthly escrow releases keep offsetting that.

XRP ETF Inflows Set August Record

Weekly net inflows jumped from $39.78 million to $110.49 million in the week ending Aug. 28, data compiled by SoSoValue showed. Trading volume over the same stretch rose to $363.03 million from $253.05 million.

Total net assets across the seven listed funds moved up to $1.44 billion from $1.33 billion.

For the full month the products gathered more than $150 million, a total that beat the previous 2026 high of $131.94 million set in May. Almost all of that money arrived in the final two weeks of the month.

The Bitwise XRP ETF crossed $500 million in assets under management nine months after launch, the manager said on Aug. 31, and the fund now holds close to 364.8 million tokens. Franklin Templeton's XRPZ has become the closest challenger on recent momentum, drawing about $28.7 million in the last week of August. Canary Capital, which opened the U.S. spot XRP category in November 2025 with a debut near $60 million, remains one of the larger products in the group.

Goldman Sachs Tops XRP Holders

Second-quarter 13F filings compiled by James Seyffart of Bloomberg Intelligence put Goldman Sachs at the top of the institutional table with about $87.4 million, an increase of roughly $83.1 million over the quarter. Jane Street ranked second at $16.6 million, ahead of Millennium Management at $16.2 million, Intesa Sanpaolo at $14.4 million and Marex UK Holdings at $8.1 million.

Seyffart called the flow pattern surprisingly resilient, since the money has moved in one direction. One tracker estimates combined fund holdings near 1.11 billion XRP, slightly more than 1% of the 100 billion total supply. Retail buyers still account for roughly 84% of inflows, and a Senate cloture vote on the CLARITY Act sits on the calendar for Sept. 15.

XRP Price Lags The Flows

Ripple unlocks 1 billion XRP from escrow on the first day of each month and returns most of it, leaving about 300 million tokens in circulation.

That release cancels out much of what the funds absorb, which helps explain why tighter fund holdings have not squeezed the price higher.

XRP gained about 28% in August, its strongest month of 2026, after climbing from near $1 in mid-month to $1.70 on Aug. 22.

The token gave back most of that advance and changed hands near $1.38 on Monday. It still trades roughly 62% below its record high of $3.65.
