XRP (XRP) has fallen 20% from its $1.70 peak and is testing $1.35-$1.38 support after failing to hold the 50-week EMA at $1.54.

Key Points:

  • XRP rose 71.8% from $0.988 to $1.698 before entering a 20% correction.
  • About 3.2B XRP were traded between $1.35 and $1.38, making that area the main support test highlighted by Ali Martinez.
  • A renewed rally would face resistance near $1.60, $1.68 and $1.86 before $2.00 and $2.19 come back into view.

XRP Support Test

XRP’s sharp recovery from below $1.00 to a multi-month high near $1.70 has reversed, leaving the token around $1.40 after Kevin Warsh’s hawkish Jackson Hole speech added pressure Friday. Momentum has weakened.

Analyst Ali Martinez said XRP failed to remain above the 50-week exponential moving average at $1.54, shifting attention to the $1.35-$1.38 area, where URPD data show roughly 3.2B XRP were previously traded.

Earlier in the rally, active addresses on the XRP Ledger jumped more than 650%, rising from 47,180 to above 356,000, while whales accumulated over 300M tokens in 96 hours. That demand now faces a major test.

Martinez Resistance Map

Market commentator CRYPTOWZRD said XRP was bearish and volatile during the latest session before closing lower, while identifying $1.40 as a level that needed to hold. The token had not maintained it.

If buyers regain control, Martinez identified $1.60 and $1.68 as initial resistance areas with about 1.99B XRP traded around each level, while $1.86 is the larger barrier with 3.47B XRP changing hands.

A break above $1.86 could reopen the path toward the psychological $2.00 level and then $2.19, while continued weakness around current support would leave the recent recovery under pressure. The immediate question is whether buyers can defend the high-volume $1.35-$1.38 zone.

The pullback follows a 71.8% rise from $0.988 to $1.698 in roughly two weeks, a move accompanied by a sharp increase in active addresses and heavy whale accumulation. XRP has since surrendered about one-fifth of that advance from last Saturday’s multi-month peak.
