Bittensor (TAO) climbed above $300 on Tuesday, gaining roughly 19% in a single day and leading a broad rally across artificial intelligence tokens.
Key Points:
- TAO rose about 19% in 24 hours and roughly 37% over the week, outpacing the wider crypto market.
- An analyst expects a breakout toward $360 to $380 after months of accumulation against Bitcoin.
- Overbought momentum readings and short orders stacked near $320 point to a possible near-term pullback.
Bittensor Price Surge
Market data shows the token changed hands near $319 at one point on Tuesday, up from about $268 a day earlier and roughly 37% above where it traded a week ago. Volume over the same period reached about $715 million. Quotes varied widely across exchanges and data providers through the session, with some venues showing TAO closer to $290 as the move cooled.
The advance came as Bitcoin (BTC) held above $85,000 following a 6% jump the previous day, a broad recovery that pulled money back into higher-risk tokens across the market. Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (FET) also led gainers, a market overview noted.

TAO Breakout Targets
Crypto analyst Michaël van de Poppe said the token had yet to move off its lows while other altcoins ran, a pattern he reads as the setup for a delayed breakout in the coming weeks. He put the target between $360 and $380. TAO cleared the neckline of an inverse head-and-shoulders pattern near $270 before extending the move, and funding rates turned positive as traders paid to hold long positions.
The daily MACD turned green after a bullish crossover, and the price now sits well above the 50-day, 100-day and 200-day exponential moving averages, which cluster between $230 and $238. Those averages trail the current level by more than 20%.
Market trackers attributed the run to money rotating back into AI-linked tokens, a trade where TAO tends to serve as the benchmark name rather than the outlier. Holders also point to reward changes that push emissions toward subnets with real demand, which supports the argument that the network is repricing on fundamentals. One sector review counted AI tokens adding 9.4% in a day.
TAO Pullback Risks
The RSI reads near 74 on the daily chart, deep in overbought territory, and a bearish divergence has already printed on the hourly chart. About $1 million in short orders sits near $320.
One technical review warned that a retreat toward $282 or $263 inside the next 48 to 72 hours is the likelier outcome unless a fresh catalyst arrives.
Earlier this month a five-day run of roughly 25% pushed TAO toward $300 before that attempt stalled at the same level. By mid-September the token had slipped to about $219 and sat below all four of its key moving averages, so this week's rebound has erased that slide and more.
