Stellar (XLM) slipped to about $0.22 on Friday as a 27% monthly rally stalled below $0.25 and daily trading volume dropped 26%.

Key Points:

  • XLM traded near $0.22 on Oct. 2, down about 2% in 24 hours, with daily volume falling 26% to roughly $254 million.
  • Analysts place resistance at $0.24 to $0.25 and say the token needs a fresh catalyst to break higher.
  • The pullback follows a 160% jump in altcoin exchange deposits, a sign that holders may be locking in September gains.

XLM Price Pullback

The token traded near $0.22 on Oct. 2, down roughly 2% over 24 hours, according to CoinGecko data. It moved between $0.2169 and $0.2281 during that period, inside a seven-day range of $0.2071 to $0.2366. Volume thinned as well.

About $254 million worth of XLM changed hands over the day, 26% less than in the previous 24 hours. CryptoQuant data showed altcoin deposit transactions to exchanges climbing about 160% in two weeks, to roughly 78,000 by Sept. 28, the highest level since October 2025.

XLM Analysts Split

Market analyst Arman Shirinyan described XLM as stuck in a low-conviction range, with moving averages compressed, resistance at $0.24 to $0.25 and support around $0.19 to $0.20. Thin volume makes any breakout suspect, he said. Without a catalyst, such as a network upgrade or a broader altcoin rally, he expects the token to keep trading between $0.18 and $0.24.

Other readings look firmer.

Crypto analyst Manish Chhetri wrote on Thursday that XLM holds above its 50-day, 100-day and 200-day exponential moving averages, clustered between roughly $0.188 and $0.195. He put the RSI near 63 alongside a positive MACD reading, with resistance at $0.237 and then $0.261. Derivatives traders were more cautious, as CoinGlass data he cited put XLM's long-to-short ratio at 0.68, near its lowest level in over a month.

Stellar Rally Context

September also brought payments news for the network. BVNK, the stablecoin infrastructure firm owned by Mastercard, added Stellar to its platform on Sept. 22, giving enterprise customers in more than 130 countries another route for cross-border payments, merchant payouts and treasury transfers.

XLM has swung widely this year. Shirinyan's chart shows a drop of about 41% from a June peak near $0.27 to summer lows around $0.16, followed by the September recovery. Even after that rebound, the token sits roughly 75% below its record high of $0.8756, set in January 2018.
