Cardano (ADA) climbed about 10% in 24 hours on Monday to trade above $0.27, its highest level since May, while Bitcoin (BTC) stayed locked in a narrow range.
Key Points:
- ADA gained about 10% in a day and traded above $0.27, a price last seen in May.
- Bitcoin rose 1% and held its recent range, and no single catalyst explains the move.
- Spot volume topped $1 billion, yet trading on Cardano's own exchanges has shrunk.
Cardano Price Breakout
Market data showed ADA up 10% over 24 hours and 4% since midnight UTC, a move that left the largest tokens far behind. Bitcoin added just 1% and stayed inside its recent band of $84,000 to $87,000, while Ether (ETH) rose 0.5%. ADA traded between $0.2442 and $0.2749 during the session.
Spot volume topped $1 billion in 24 hours, about a tenth of the market value of roughly $10.2 billion that ranks Cardano 15th among crypto assets.
The gain came as the U.S. Dollar Index climbed to 102.53, its highest since April 2025, a backdrop often viewed as a headwind for crypto.

Hoskinson Leios Teaser
No single announcement explains the gain. Attention has centered on RealFi, a protocol that went live on Cardano's main network on Oct. 1 and issues a dollar-pegged stablecoin backed by assets such as Treasuries and private credit. It advertises yields of up to 9% a year.
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson reposted an ADA price chart during the rally with one hashtag, #LeiosIsComing, a nod to the network's planned scaling upgrade. The first phase of that upgrade, part of the Dijkstra era, is due between late December and early 2027 and is designed to raise transaction throughput.
Derivatives traders joined in. Open interest in ADA futures rose about 15% to more than $600 million by one tracker's count, and short sellers took most of roughly $2 million in liquidations. Activity on the network itself points the other way, since volume on Cardano's decentralized exchanges has more than halved in recent days from nearly $12 million.
ADA Golden Cross
ADA's 50-day simple moving average crossed above its 200-day average in early October, the first such golden cross since August 2025, and the RSI reads between 69 and 73, near levels that traders treat as overbought.
The previous cross did not hold, one analysis found, leaving ADA about 42% lower by the time a death cross followed in November 2025.
ADA has swung widely this year. It slid to a low near $0.14 in late June, traded below $0.18 in early August and then rallied more than 25% in a single week in late September. Even after Monday's gain, the token trades about 36% below its January high and roughly 91% under its 2021 record of $3.09.
