U.S. spot Dogecoin (DOGE) exchange-traded funds drew a reported $2.89 million in net inflows this week, yet short sellers kept piling into bets that the meme coin will fall.

Key Points:

  • Spot Dogecoin funds reportedly took in $2.89 million from Sept. 21 to Sept. 25, led by a single issuer.
  • Short accounts now outnumber long ones in Dogecoin derivatives markets.
  • DOGE slipped to about $0.097 on Saturday after briefly topping $0.10 during the week.

DOGE ETF Inflows

The five-day total is reportedly the funds' largest weekly haul since trading began in November 2025, data from SoSoValue showed.

That is roughly ten times the $284,510 the products collected the week before.

The Grayscale Dogecoin Trust ETF led with $3.48 million, while the 21Shares Dogecoin ETF lost about $593,000. The buying started on Sept. 21, when the funds drew $909,650 as DOGE jumped 14% in a single session. A day later they added $1.17 million, the strongest daily inflow since May.

The demand comes as Bitwise prepares to shut its Dogecoin fund on Oct. 14. That product charged the lowest fee of the three but posted about $1.23 million in net outflows, while Grayscale's fund had gathered about $11.7 million by Sept. 10.

Dogecoin Short Sellers

Derivatives traders remain unconvinced. The long-to-short ratio for Dogecoin tracked by CoinGlass has reportedly stayed below 1 since Sept. 19 and slipped to 0.87, meaning more accounts are betting on a decline. That crowding cuts both ways, since short sellers absorbed most of the forced liquidations when DOGE spiked on Sept. 21, derivatives data indicated.

Analyst Kevin Capital argued on Tuesday that Dogecoin broke its daily bear-market resistance for the first time this cycle and named $0.107 to $0.118 as the next target zone. Trader Scient was more cautious, expecting a pullback toward $0.08 to $0.09 before any longer-term move higher.

DOGE Price Swings

Trader Tardigrade took profits near resistance on Sept. 21 but said he plans to place only buy orders in the coming weeks.

On the four-hour chart, however, the RSI has crossed below its signal line, a sign that bearish momentum is building. Support sits near $0.092, while $0.098 marks the first hurdle for buyers.

DOGE traded near $0.07 in late July, close to its lowest level since November 2023, and still hovered around $0.083 on Sept. 15. The Sept. 21 rally lifted it back to $0.10, a level that has capped every advance since May.
