NEAR Protocol (NEAR) climbed about 76% in a week as its cross-chain swap system neared $30 billion in lifetime volume and new privacy tools went live.
Key Points:
- NEAR changed hands around $4.26 on Monday after a weekly gain of roughly 76%.
- Confidential deposits on near.com crossed $70 million, triggering the first snapshot of a token reward program.
- Cross-chain swap volume reached about $29.3 billion, with privacy-focused flows playing a visible role.

NEAR rallied to roughly $4.26 on Monday, and market data showed a gain of about 76% over seven days, far ahead of the wider market. Total crypto market value rose less than 7% in that stretch. Trading in the token more than doubled in a day, topping $2.1 billion.
On Thursday, the network said deposits and withdrawals for perpetual futures on near.com are now confidential by default. The change hides the link between a trader's funding wallet and a dedicated account on Hyperliquid.
The same day, NEAR announced that confidential total value locked had passed $70 million, triggering the first snapshot of its incentive program. The 333,333 milestone tokens in that drop convert to NEAR only once the three-day volume-weighted average price reaches $3.33. The token now trades well above that mark.

Camran Khosravi On Zcash
NEAR Intents, which lets users request cross-chain swaps that market makers compete to fill, logged about $29.3 billion in all-time volume by Monday. ZODL, a wallet built for Zcash (ZEC), pushed more than $3.6 million through the system in a single day.
Camran Khosravi, a research analyst at Bitwise, argued that the two networks work as complements. In his view, NEAR gives ZEC holders confidential cross-chain rails and deeper access to liquidity. He also cautioned that the locked total can rise simply because ZEC already sitting in the system gains value, without any new deposits.
Some signals point to an overheated move, since the weekly RSI climbed above 70 last week, a level that often precedes profit-taking. Chart analyst CryptoBullet read the same chart as a double bottom, with spot targets of $8 and $20.
NEAR Price History
The surge caps a steep monthly recovery for a token that spent much of the year drifting lower. NEAR traded near $2.30 at its weekly low and has more than doubled over the past 30 days. Even after the run, it sits roughly 79% below its record of $20.44, set in January 2022.
