Donald Trump, a Presidential candidate and a felon, met some crypto miners and made some unbelievable statements. Bitcoin to be Made in USA, he said.
As Yellow.com already highlighted, Trump wants to be America's first Bitcoin President. He started with accepting crypto donations for his campaign. Now he is going even further than that.
According to Cointelegraph, Trump showed his support for the crypto mining industry after executives pitched him on how they could strengthen the electrical grid and create new jobs.
Trump claims that “all the remaining Bitcoin to be MADE IN THE USA!!!” as it would help the country be “energy dominant.”
The ex-president also mentioned the dangers of CBDC (central bank digital currency). Trump thinks Bitcoin is the country’s “last line of defense” against CBDC.
This bold statement comes despite the fact that Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said in March the U.S. was “nowhere near recommending or let alone adopting a central bank digital currency in any form.”
Trump might be referring to some of his supporters. They often claim that Joe Biden's hatred towards cryptocurrencies helps China, Russia and radical communists.
For instance, Biden has proposed a 30% electricity tax on Bitcoin miners in the country. Miners aren't happy, to say the least.
