Asset manager WisdomTree expanded its tokenized fund offerings to Solana (SOL), enabling institutional and retail investors to mint and hold money market, equity, and fixed income products on the blockchain.
The integration extends WisdomTree's suite of regulated funds to Solana through its WisdomTree Connect and Prime platforms.
Users can purchase tokenized positions using Circle (USDC) and PayPal's PYUSD through the firm's stablecoin conversion service.
Solana's real-world asset ecosystem reached $1.12 billion in total value locked this month, placing it third globally behind Ethereum (ETH) $12.3 billion and BNB Chain's (BNB) $2 billion in tokenized assets.
What Happened
WisdomTree institutional clients using Connect can mint and manage tokenized fund positions directly on Solana, including interaction with native applications subject to risk controls. Prime users can on-ramp USDC from Solana and off-ramp holdings to self-custody wallets.
The deployment continues WisdomTree's multi-chain strategy across Ethereum, Arbitrum (ARB), Avalanche (AVAX), Base, Optimism (OP), and Stellar (XLM).
Maredith Hannon, head of business development for digital assets at WisdomTree, cited Solana's transaction speeds and infrastructure as factors enabling institutional access.
Solana Foundation's Nick Ducoff said the expansion reflects demand for tokenized real-world assets at scale. BlackRock's institutional liquidity fund holds $205 million on Solana, while Ondo's (ONDO) dollar-yield products account for $176 million of the chain's RWA total.

Why It Matters
Asset managers have accelerated blockchain deployments following regulatory standardization under frameworks including the U.S. GENIUS Act. Tokenized funds reached $14.4 billion across all chains, with growth concentrated in Treasury-backed products and institutional investment vehicles.
Solana processed 2.3 billion transactions in the last 30 days and recorded $100 billion in decentralized exchange volume over the same period. The blockchain's $1 billion RWA milestone comes after 325% growth throughout 2025 from approximately $200 million at year-start.
Competition remains concentrated among established chains. Ethereum maintains 65% market share in tokenized assets, while newer deployments face distribution challenges despite technical advantages in transaction costs and settlement speeds.
WisdomTree manages $147 billion in assets and offers a physically-backed Solana exchange-traded product in Europe. The firm's tokenization push competes with similar initiatives from BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, and Fidelity targeting institutional adoption of blockchain-based financial products.
