Armitage by Wintermute is building its yield strategies on Railnet, designed to make managed yield accessible to millions of users across fintech platforms, exchanges and wallets.
The first strategy to go live on Railnet will be WETH Yield, targeting 3–4% yield, with stablecoin and RWA strategies to follow.
Wintermute is a global algorithmic trading firm that averages more than $10 billion a day in trading volume across more than 70 centralized and decentralized venues.
Armitage’s Approach to Collateral Management
Curating collateral beyond the most liquid assets normally depends on third-party keepers to unwind positions when markets move. Because Wintermute can execute those liquidations itself, Armitage can accept a wider range of collateral types and expand access to onchain lending markets.
Railnet’s Role in Yield Strategy Management
Railnet provides the vault infrastructure for Armitage to combine yield sources across multiple venues, with different liquidity profiles and settlement timelines, under a single onchain NAV. Armitage can rebalance across approved venues but cannot withdraw or redirect assets.
First on Railnet: WETH Yield
WETH Yield combines leveraged ETH staking with lending and private credit. The proposed strategy uses staked ETH as collateral to borrow and deploy assets into additional yield sources, while maintaining a WETH reserve for redemptions.
For institutions seeking yield on their ETH holdings, this brings those positions into one managed strategy. Fintech platforms, exchanges and wallets can offer it to users without building and operating the underlying positions themselves.
Redemptions are asynchronous, with a 48-hour redemption period. Risk is managed with per-market supply caps and oracle monitoring.
Next: USDC Prime and USDC Select
Armitage also plans to bring two USDC strategies to Railnet, with USDC Prime combining onchain lending with tokenized US Treasuries and USDC Select adding institutional credit.
USDC Prime prioritizes a more conservative lending allocation. Its proposed mix is:
- 80% in Armitage Prime on Morpho, supplying USDC against cbBTC, wstETH and WBTC at conservative liquidation LTVs
- 15% in tokenized US Treasuries through Ondo OUSG
- 5% in a USDC liquidity reserve
USDC Select adds secured lending through Maple alongside a broader Morpho lending allocation. Its proposed mix is:
- 75% in Armitage Select on Morpho
- 10% in Maple secured lending
- 10% in tokenized US Treasuries through Ondo OUSG
- 5% in a USDC liquidity reserve
Both strategies combine assets with different liquidity profiles and settlement timelines under a single onchain NAV, with a USDC reserve to support redemptions.
> “Onchain capital management is maturing past single lending markets, and the hard part of curating across more sources is the risk. Armitage brings years of risk discipline to that, and Railnet provides the infrastructure to run and distribute these strategies onchain.”
Igor Igamberdiev, Lead at Armitage
> “Railnet makes it easy for asset managers to manage diversified strategies seamlessly onchain and distribute them to fintechs and institutions through Railnet App, or a unified API with custom fee configurations.” - Laszlo Szabo, CEO and Co-founder of Railnet
