SpaceXAI released Grok 4.6 on Wednesday, and the model scored 61 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, matching OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Sol at its highest reasoning setting.

Key Points:

  • Grok 4.6 posted 61 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, five points above Grok 4.5.
  • The model ships through Cursor, Grok Build, the API, OpenRouter, Vercel and Cloudflare at $2 per million input tokens.
  • SpaceX shares climbed back above their $135 IPO price on Wednesday.

Grok 4.6 Benchmarks And API Pricing

The company pitched the release at long-running agents, coding and knowledge work, saying the model holds a task across many steps, tests its own output and builds first-pass visual layouts faster. It also works through unfamiliar codebases without prior context.

The 61-point result trails Anthropic's Claude Fable 5 Max by a single point.

SpaceXAI credited the jump to a longer supplemental training run covering reasoning and high-quality engineering content, plus expanded reinforcement learning across coding, kernel optimization, web development and computer-aided design. Distribution runs through Cursor, Grok Build, the company's own API, OpenRouter, Vercel and Cloudflare.

Grok 4.5 scored 56 on the same index when it launched in July. Company figures showed improvements over that model on every evaluation listed, and pricing holds at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens. A faster tier costs double that, while Cursor and Grok Build subscribers get twice the included usage during the model's first week on both platforms.

Morgan Stanley And Musk On SpaceX AI Revenue

SpaceX stock rose about 7% Wednesday to $142.62, lifting shares back above the $135 IPO price the company set in June. Elon Musk had told staff at a Tuesday all-hands meeting that AI revenue would pass all other SpaceX revenue in September and widen that lead in the fourth quarter.

Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas maintained an Overweight rating and a $300 price target this week, keeping one of the more bullish positions on Wall Street.

He wrote that few investors appear bullish on the AI unit beyond its neocloud operations, leaving room for that valuation discount to close. The firm projects Cursor annual recurring revenue near $8 billion by year-end and roughly $33 billion by 2030.

SpaceX Stock Swings Since The June IPO

SPCX began trading Jun. 12 at $135, closed as high as $201.80 on Jun. 16, then shed more than 30% from that record ahead of the first insider lockup expiry this month. The expected wave of selling never arrived, and shares recovered within days.

A second lockup window opens Aug. 20. SpaceXAI has kept a compressed schedule through the summer, closing the Cursor acquisition in June, shipping Grok 4.5 in July and launching Grok Bot on Tuesday. Musk has said Grok 4.7, a larger 2.1 trillion-parameter model, arrives within weeks, with Grok 5 targeted before the end of the year.
