The new meme coin Hachiko (HACHI) has taken the lead in the crypto charts as it soared 933% last week. The Solana-based dog coin made this movement in over a day last week. The coin is still maintaining a lead when Crypto All-Stars pre-sale gains have hit the market.
The name comes from the popular Japanese Akita dog called Hachiko who is world-renowned for remaining loyal to his owner, even after the death of the person. Recently, two meme coins have been created based on the Hachiko. Both have the same name and HACHI ticker symbol.
Out of the two, the one with the lowest market capitalization made the biggest surge last week, gaining 960% to reach the $0.002482 level. Although Hachiko surged considerably last week, its market cap remains $2.9 million. The catch here is that the meme coin has a trading volume of $4.5 million despite such a low market cap.
HACHI gained traction because of its high trading volume despite being a microcap meme coin on Solana. It was one of the most trending tokens on CoinMarketCap last Thursday, October 17, which shows the crypto traders’ interest in the coin.
This has led several influencers to buy Hachiko saying it’s a runner, just like the most famous dog in the world. Some have even predicted that HACHI could be the Neiro as its strength has risen in the last couple of days.
The Solana-based meme coin was first launched through a presale but its token price gained exponentially after an initial chop. Highlighting this, crypto analyst Sjuul from AltCryptoGems said that the presales are often the best way to get an entry into meme coins like HACHIKO as they offer discounted and fixed prices before they hit the exchanges and begin to surge. This comment comes at a time when the crypto world is gearing up for the Crypto All-Stars pre-sale.
As of October 24 afternoon, Hachiko is trading at $0.002248, down by 29.29% in the last 24 hours while its market capitalization stands at $2.34 million without any change. However, the meme coin’s trading volume has gone down by 29.93% in the last 24 hours to reach $1.78 million.
