Yellow Launches SDK MCP, Bringing Non-Custodial Settlement Primitives Into AI Coding Tools

A new Model Context Protocol server lets developers look up, learn, and scaffold agent-ready settlement flows directly inside Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, and other AI-assisted coding environments.

Yellow today released Yellow SDK MCP, a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that connects its settlement stack to AI-assisted coding tools.

The release lets developers use MCP-compatible assistants, including Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, Codex, and GitHub Copilot-compatible setups, to look up SDK methods, understand the protocol, and scaffold settlement-focused and AI agent payment applications without leaving their editor.

Yellow SDK MCP is available now via npm.

AI agents are beginning to transact autonomously, paying for compute, data, and services on behalf of users and businesses. Existing payment rails were never designed for machine-speed, machine-scale commerce.

Yellow is the trust and settlement layer for this emerging agent economy, and the tools developers use to build AI agents are increasingly AI-assisted. Yellow SDK MCP brings the protocol directly into those tools, making it easier to move from learning a settlement pattern to building a working application.

"Developers shouldn't have to leave their editor to understand how settlement works. Yellow SDK MCP brings the protocol's methods, patterns, and security guidance into the AI tools builders already use, so the path from learning about state channels to shipping a working application is much shorter."

Louis Bellet, Co-Founder & Chief Architect, Yellow

How it works

Yellow provides off-chain, non-custodial settlement primitives that developers can build on.

App Sessions function as Virtual State Channels, allowing participants to exchange assets deposited from different blockchains before settling the final outcome on Yellow.

Yellow SDK MCP exposes the Yellow SDK across both TypeScript and Go through MCP, enabling AI assistants to understand the SDK, explain protocol concepts, and generate accurate starter code.

What builders get

  • SDK method and type lookup across the TypeScript and Go SDKs.
  • Search across SDK APIs, protocol concepts, examples, security guidance, and migration documentation.
  • Project scaffolding for transfer apps, App Session applications, settlement workflows, and AI agent payment applications.
  • Plain-English explanations of Nitrolite concepts, including state channels, App Sessions, challenge periods, Nitronode, and vaults.

Developers do not need to clone the Nitrolite repository for normal usage. Full setup instructions for each supported tool are available in the Yellow SDK MCP documentation.

About Yellow

Yellow is the trust and settlement layer for the agentic economy. The platform provides programmable escrow and instant settlement infrastructure that enables AI agents to transact with each other and with human counterparties without centralized intermediaries. Yellow is designed for the machine-speed, machine-scale commerce that autonomous AI systems require.
