US-listed spot Bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded funds pulled in $626 million over the first three trading days of August, capping the run with a $244.4 million Wednesday session.

Key Points:

  • Spot Bitcoin ETFs collected $626 million in net inflows across the first three sessions of August, including $244.4 million on Wednesday.
  • BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust supplied roughly $479 million of that total, pushing its lifetime net inflows toward $61 billion.
  • Ether funds added $114.6 million over two days while XRP products broke a four-session run without redemptions, shedding $3.58 million.

Bitcoin ETF Inflows Rebuild After July Selloff

The category rebounded on Aug. 3 with $170.1 million in net inflows, a session in which seven of the 12 listed products drew cash and not one of them reported a withdrawal. Tuesday delivered another $211.49 million. Wednesday's $244.4 million print lifted the three-day tally to roughly $626 million, already more than the funds gathered across the whole of July.

BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust supplied the bulk of that money, contributing about $479 million over the stretch and taking its cumulative net inflows to nearly $61 billion since the funds began trading in January 2024. Fidelity's FBTC sits a distant second.

Bitcoin traded near $64,700 on Wednesday, up less than 1% over the previous 24 hours, with the wider crypto market valued at about $2.29 trillion. Sentiment did not follow.

The Crypto Fear and Greed Index slipped to 25, a reading that sits inside its "Extreme Fear" band, and one notch below the 27 it printed a day earlier.

Ether And XRP ETF Flows Diverge

Spot Ether (ETH) funds recorded a second consecutive positive session, adding $60.9 million on Wednesday and bringing their two-day haul to $114.6 million. Spot XRP (XRP) products went the other way, shedding $3.58 million and breaking a four-session run in which the five funds logged no redemptions at all.

Flow data carries weight because redemptions push custodians to sell Bitcoin on the open market, which turns investor exits into mechanical selling regardless of what any individual trader thinks about the price. Inflows work the same way in reverse, and analysts track the daily prints as a rough proxy for how much regulated money is entering the asset. The concentration in one issuer remains the obvious caveat.

Bitcoin ETF Flows In Recent Months

The August rebound follows a punishing stretch. Hashdex said this week it would liquidate its spot Bitcoin fund after Aug. 17, the first shutdown of a US spot Bitcoin ETF since the category launched two and a half years ago.

US spot Bitcoin ETFs bled more than $8 billion across May and June, with June alone accounting for roughly $4.5 billion in redemptions as the price sank from its October 2025 peak near $126,000.

July turned positive, the first such month since April. The complex still holds about $78 billion in net assets and roughly $51.5 billion in cumulative net inflows, a figure gold funds took years longer to reach.
