Canva attracted 10.5 billion web visits in the 12 months through April, ranking second among all AI platforms and trailing only ChatGPT.

Key Points:

  • Canva drew 10.5 billion web visits between May 2025 and April 2026, finishing second behind ChatGPT.
  • ChatGPT generated 64.7 billion visits, or 44.76% of all traffic across the 9,531 AI tools studied.
  • Chatbots took 86 billion visits, close to 60% of the entire AI tools market.

Canva Web Visits Beat Gemini, Claude And Grok

Marketing analytics firm OneLittleWeb tracked 9,531 AI tools across more than 170 categories, drawing on monthly traffic estimates for the year that ended in April.

Canva placed second with 10.5 billion visits, ahead of Google's Gemini at 6.9 billion, DeepSeek at 3.8 billion and Anthropic's Claude at 3.4 billion. Grok collected 2.5 billion visits and Perplexity 2.3 billion, leaving both far off the pace.

OpenAI's ChatGPT sat far above the field with 64.7 billion visits, or 44.76% of all traffic the study measured, after adding 26.6 billion in a single year. Canva grew 15.54% and took 96.28% of the design generator category, where the next nine tools shared under 300 million visits between them.

ChatGPT Share Points To A Concentrated AI Market

The 9,531 tools generated 144.5 billion visits between them, up 40.12% from the previous 12 months, though nearly 90% of that went to only 100 platforms. Chatbots pulled 86 billion visits on their own, a rise of 90.82% that lifted the category to almost 60% of the entire market. Gemini traffic rose 450% over the year, while Grok climbed 731% from a far smaller base.

Not every corner of the market grew.

Google Translate shed 1.5 billion visits, while Chegg, Quizlet and QuillBot each posted double-digit declines as users folded those tasks into general-purpose assistants. The United States produced the most AI traffic at 29.2 billion visits, while Singapore led on intensity with 16.1 million visits per 100,000 residents. Those totals cover public website visits alone, so app installs, API calls and enterprise deployments sit outside the count.

Canva AI Rollout Preceded The Traffic Gain

Canva has spent the past year rebuilding its product around AI rather than chasing the crowded chatbot race, and the traffic figures reflect that choice. The company unveiled Canva AI 2.0 in April, adding conversational design, task scheduling, web research and spreadsheet generation to an editor that already reached hundreds of millions of users.

It then opened Canva Code 2.0 to every pricing tier in July, letting people build websites and small apps from plain-text prompts.

Chief product officer Cameron Adams said the tool reaches everyone on the platform, free accounts included, a base the company now puts above 265 million users a month.

Venture firm Andreessen Horowitz had already ranked Canva among the most-used consumer AI web apps earlier this year, ahead of Claude, Grok and DeepSeek.
