Bitget has signed a cooperation agreement with the Gelephu Mindfulness City Authority as it seeks a licensed digital asset presence in southern Bhutan.

Bitget Bhutan Licence Plan

The agreement sets out how the exchange would establish a legal entity in Gelephu Mindfulness City and apply for a Financial Services Licence. The Gelephu Financial Services Office issues that licence. Both sides will also cooperate on operational, regulatory and ecosystem work, and the plans depend on the required approvals.

Gelephu Mindfulness City is a special administrative region in southern Bhutan. Its financial regime runs under the Financial Services Act 2025 and subsidiary rulebooks, which require firms carrying out regulated financial or virtual asset activities there to hold a licence.
