Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro in four colors on Sept. 9, retiring the popular Cosmic Orange finish for a darker shade that leakers call Dark Cherry.

iPhone 18 Pro Colors
Supply chain sources have described the four finishes as Light Blue, Dark Cherry, Dark Gray and Silver, with each shade tied to an internal Pantone code. Dark Cherry carries the code 6076, a wine-toned red that trends closer to purple than to maroon. The iPhone 17 Pro shipped in only three colors last year, one fewer than the rumored 2026 lineup.
Apple is also expected to soften the two-tone look of the current Pro models, where the glass panel on the back reads noticeably lighter than the aluminum frame. Leaks indicate the two components will land closer in tone this time, though they will stay distinguishable because the materials differ.

Dark Cherry And Case Fit
Veteran Apple reporter Mark Gurman first flagged a deep red option in February, and the Weibo leaker known as Fixed Focus Digital later settled on the darker of two shades circulating online.
Dummy models shared by Sonny Dickson in May put the same four colors into physical form for the first time.
Size is the open question. Otterbox has begun selling a case at Best Buy labeled for both the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 18 Pro, which implies the two phones share exterior dimensions.
Other reports point to a thicker body and a taller camera plateau, with supplier material suggesting roughly 2 millimeters of added depth.
Color matters more to Apple than it once did, and Cosmic Orange became the standout seller of the iPhone 17 Pro line, pulling the range away from the muted grays and whites it used for years. A fourth finish would also give buyers one more reason to upgrade in a year when the hardware changes look modest.
Apple Color Track Record
The company has not dated its fall event, though a four-year invitation pattern puts the keynote on Wednesday, Sept. 9, with invites likely landing two weeks earlier on Aug. 26.
Color leaks usually hold up, but not always. Cosmic Orange was tipped as a gold or bronze shade before launch and arrived far more vivid than any mockup suggested.
A year earlier, the iPhone 16 Pro's desert titanium leaked as a muddy brown and shipped as a soft, pink-toned gold, while a rumored black iPhone 17 Pro was dropped before it reached a store shelf.
