Shiba Inu (SHIB) has fixed outdated connection details for its Shibarium network on Chainlist, even as the token slipped about 6% in a week.

Shibarium RPC Fix
The team announced the change on the project's official X account, calling it a small but useful update. The ethereum-lists/chains registry now carries a working public RPC endpoint for Shibarium, and Chainlist has synced the new settings. Many wallets and Web3 apps pull network data from that widely used directory.
Longtime community member Mazrael started the fix with GitHub pull request 8699, which maintainers have merged. The old entry pointed to an endpoint that stopped working when developers shut down Shibarium's former public RPCs in late 2025, leaving Chainlist users struggling to add the network.
Other infrastructure work is moving too. The Shibariumscan explorer is rebuilding its database, with 52% of blocks indexed so far, though the process erases no transactions from the chain. Mazrael also said shib.io and ShibaSwap moved to Cloudflare on Sept. 12 and gained IPv6 support, while the doc.shib.io documentation site migrated as well.

Mazrael On Shibarium Rebuild
The fix leaves the protocol and SHIB's token economics untouched, but wallets such as MetaMask, Ledger and Phantom lean on the same registry, so users should see fewer failed connections. Some users on X welcomed the easier access, while others dismissed the change as trivial.
Mazrael said the broader rebuild is further along than its low public profile suggests. Separately, lead ambassador Shytoshi Kusama swapped a long X bio for the single word "polish," sparking talk of an upcoming release. No product has been announced.
SHIB Exploit Aftermath
SHIB traded near $0.0000052 after the weekly drop, leaving its market value around $3 billion. Shibarium activity remains weak, with daily transactions reportedly in the low thousands, and sometimes the hundreds, after running into the millions before last year's exploit.
That attack hit on Sept. 12, 2025, when an exploiter borrowed 4.6 million BONE (BONE) through a flash loan and took control of 10 of 12 validator signing keys. The attacker drained about $4.1 million in Ether (ETH), SHIB and 15 other tokens, forcing an emergency shutdown. Developers later prepared to restart the bridge and began working on a plan to reimburse affected users.
